Special Session 8
AI Empowering Transportation-Energy Integration

With the large-scale application of electric vehicles, the continuous improvement of charging infrastructure, and the increasing share of distributed renewable energy, the boundaries between transportation infrastructure networks and energy networks are becoming increasingly blurred, and the deep integration of transportation and energy systems has become a critical pathway to achieving carbon neutrality and sustainable transportation. The transportation–energy integrated system is characterized by high dynamics, uncertainty, and complex coupling, for which artificial intelligence (AI) technologies provide a powerful means of real-time perception, prediction, optimization, and coordination. To this end, this special session aims to bring together researchers and practitioners from related fields to explore how AI can empower innovative applications in modeling, operation, and market mechanism design for transportation–energy integrated systems, thereby promoting interdisciplinary exchange and advancing the development of intelligent, low-carbon, and resilient transportation–energy integration.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
(1) AI-driven forecasting of transportation energy demand and analysis of energy-use behavior; AI
(2) AI-driven joint operation optimization of transportation and energy systems; AI
(3) AI-driven energy management for transportation hub energy systems; AI
(4) AI-driven resilience enhancement of transportation–energy integrated systems; AI
(5) AI-driven market mechanism design for integrated transportation–energy systems. AI
